It was a tough holiday season. I did manage to get in a few workouts and I've used the gym 3 times on my own so far. I'm feeling very proud of myself on that. I've never been an athletic person and this process is difficult for me. This week I worked out on Sunday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I did weights o Sunday, Thursday, and Saturday. On Friday I checked out a new rec center's recumbent bikes but I'm going to stick with my current rec center. Tomorrow I do the bike again.

Independent Workout
I just did my first independent workout at the rec center in the weight room. That was a little nerve wracking. I tend to talk to myself when I'm nervous and I was trying to follow the sheet she gave me AND I was very self conscious. So I'm sure I looked a little crazy. Ack! But I did it!
I need to decide if I want to continue to do this after work or if I want to get up early and go before work. I don't have a garage and I hate walkin outside when it's dark in the morning. For some reason I can handle the dark better at night. But the workouts probably aren't as effective because I'm tired. I'm much more of a morning person than a night person.

Personal Trainer
I worked out with a personal trainer today for the first time ever. So far, so good. I think this is the way for me to go. I don't want to have to research and figure out the exercising part of this equation. I'm looking at it as outsourcing the coordination so I can focus on the effort. Now if only I could afford a personal chef...

Greetings!
Hello out there! I'm starting this blog at the start of (at least) a year long committment to lose 90lbs. Whoosh! I can't believe I just wrote that down. Well, I don't expect this to be easy but I'm determined to do it. I went to the Internist 2 weeks ago for allergies and came out with a diagnosis of prediabetes. I don't really want to get diabetes so I've spent these 2 weeks getting more blood work done, seeing a podiatrist about the plantar fasciitis in my foot, and trying to coordinate my schedule with a personal trainer. I'm meeting her on Saturday and I'm going to try and get in some good workouts despite the brace on my foot and restrictions on my activities. But there is no time like the present to start! I'm not waiting for 4 weeks for this foot to get better.
